20ft x 8ft Used Open Top Shipping Container for Sale When your cargo won’t drop in through a standard set of end doors, a 20ft used open top shipping container gives you the answer: load from above. This 20ft x 8ft used open top container is built for freight forwarders, machinery movers, and site operators who need overhead access. Instead of a fixed steel corrugated roof, it uses removable bows and a weatherproof tarpaulin secured with ropes, so a crane can lower oversized items straight into the box. Overhead Loading Made Simple The removable roof dramatically simplifies loading and unloading, which is typically handled by crane. For even easier access, the door header above the doors can be swung round or removed entirely, opening the full end of the container. That makes this unit a natural fit for moving machinery, engines, and awkwardly shaped equipment that would never clear a conventional door opening. Securing the Load Lashing rings are provided throughout so cargo can be tied down and stabilized during transport. Note that the container must ship with its bows and tarpaulin fitted, as these also contribute structural strength to the box. If your load is over height and can’t be tarped, a fully open flat rack container is the better route.
